TOO BIG . . . too strong, too much! Yep, that about sums up Thursday nights game at the Cage of Rage against the Rangitoto Yanks (Auckland).

Remember last week I stated that the Magpies results so far this season were probably more a reflection of the form of the opposition we were playing rather than how good we were.

The Makos and the Jaffas (our only losses) would have to be two of the most consistent teams in the Air New Zealand Cup thus far and the others the most inconsistent.

Still full credit to the Black and Whites for hanging in their, not bad when your surviving on 34% territory and 39% possession. Come to think of it the Jaffas first two tries came from our errors and the third a clear unnoticed knock on from Isa Nacewa at the ruck prior to Tuitupou scoring.

I'S CHATTING . . . with Mark the ground announcer after and he’s still totally blown away by the crowd support the Magpies have. And we up in the score box reckoned there was more people at the Cage of Rage last night than North Harbour will have all season. Even though we were well down on the board no one was leaving now that says something.

WITH . . . every game there’s always positives and negatives. On the positive side was and MJ’s mom and dad were in agreement with me, this defeat will stand us in good stead with fixtures still to come against the likes of Canterbury and Waikato.

My only negative would have to be some of the shit ball Berky at first-five is getting thrown to him from halfback. This has been a glaring fault in nearly every ANZC game the Magpies have played this season, it’s not happening all the time but it is happening.

The ball’s either arriving above his head or on the half volley (bounces first). At the level it’s not good enough and needs to be dealt with swift Lee or Berky will be Eaton alive.

SO . . . poor old Joey Johns puts his drug problem down to 10-12 years of pressure. Shit $400-500k a year and you’ve got pressure. Get a real life Joey and see what pressure really is.

Does it mean that Johns has gone from drop kick hero to being just a straight drop kick and is now a former drugby league player?

ANOTHER . . . question to ponder. Does the current horse flu crisis in Aussie have it origins in the porn industry? Just think about it for a minute. (Um - have sat here thinking about this for a few minutes - and nope don't get it - Editor)

Cheers McGoo
